About Coach

Kristy Woods is a coach at Skopos Athletics who combines a passion for movement, a love for community, and years of coaching experience to help members achieve their goals. With a background in cheerleading, Kristy was active throughout high school and college, eventually leading the Maple Grove Cheerleading program for 10 years. During that time, her focus on lifting and core strength laid the groundwork for her transition into functional fitness.

In 2013, Kristy discovered CrossFit and quickly realized it was the perfect fit. The instructor-led classes and focus on functional movements gave her the tools to build strength, regain confidence, and embrace progress both in and out of the gym. Her journey inspired her to earn multiple certifications and become a coach in 2015, so she could share the life-changing impact of fitness with others.

Training Philosophy

Kristy’s coaching philosophy is centered on helping people discover their strength and improve their quality of life through functional fitness. She understands that fitness isn’t just about lifting heavy weights; it’s about building the confidence to tackle everyday challenges, from carrying heavy grocery bags to playing with your kids.

As a coach, Kristy emphasizes proper technique, progressions, and the importance of celebrating both big and small victories. She believes the lessons learned in the gym—patience, resilience, and determination—translate into all areas of life. Her goal is to create a positive, encouraging environment where members of all ages and abilities feel empowered to succeed.
